Department Functions
Risk Management coordinates the development and implementation of the Hampton County Safety Program. There are two committee's; a Central Safety Committee and the Department Safety Committee. The Risk Manager serves as Chairman of each committee.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a safety program to include implementation and enforcement
  • Chair safety committee meetings to discuss safety infractions, progress reports, recognition and awards programs and guidelines
  • Make recommendation's to the County Administrator and department heads on safety policies and implement approved policies
  • Coordinate safety training with each department and County wide
  • Assure records are kept of all safety infraction's and disciplinary actions
  • Coordinate safety recognition program
  • Investigate accident's and makes on-site inspections
  • Report Workers' Compensation claims and maintains file
  • Administer transitional work program for employee on light duty
