Goals
Our mission is to exemplify excellence, service, and professionalism in providing accurate and timely information on the fairness of all property assessed in Hampton County.
Goals
- Research and enforce laws pertaining to vehicle registration with the aid of a Codes Enforcement Officer
- Strive to conduct our business with the highest ethical and due diligence standards
- Approach new ideas in a positive light, looking for ways to make government more efficient within current limits of the law and work to change the law when good business practice and common sense suggest such a change.
Important Information
- In South Carolina, taxes on your vehicle are paid a year in advance
- In order to reduce confusion and avoid errors, we do not give estimates of your taxes over the phone. There are too many variables which determine your correct assessments. We provide several ways for you to obtain tentative assessments. You can use the online tax estimator, email, fax, or appear in person at the Auditor's Office. However, please understand that when using the online assessment calculator, the total tax estimate is conditional and is subject to change upon our assessment.
