PUBLIC NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD FILING
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA Hampton County
The Statewide General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than Sunday, October 9th @ 11:59 p.m. Voter registration by mail applications will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, October 10th.
The governing body of the School District of Hampton County shall be a nine-member board known as the Hampton County School District Board of Trustees.
Candidate Filing Districts:
Any person wishing to file as a non-partisan candidate for Hampton County School District Board of Trustees seats representing 1,3,5 & 7 must do so by filing a Statement of Intention of Candidacy Form with the Hampton County Board of Voter Registration and Elections. Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 members shall be elected for four-year terms. The Statement of Intention of Candidacy filing form is available in the “Candidate Information” section of scVOTES.gov and at the county elections office
Candidate Filing Period:
Filing Opens: Monday, August 1st @ noon.
Filing Closes: Monday, August 15th @ noon.
Filing Hours:
Weekdays: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

No filing fee is required.
State Ethics Filings: Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Failure to file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the election. Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.
