To help ensure voters are prepared for the upcoming Democratic Presidential Preference Primary, the Hampton County Board of Voter Registration and Elections wants to remind residents of the impending voter registration deadline and urge those already registered to update their residence address and other voter registration information. Voters who have moved from one county to another must register in their new county.
Residents who wish to vote in the February 29, 2020 Democratic Presidential Preference Primary must be registered by January 30, 2020.
17-year-old citizens who will turn 18 years of age on or before the November 3, 2020 General Election may also register and be eligible to vote in the February 29th Democratic Presidential Preference Primary, the June 9th Statewide Primary and the November 3rd General Election. This early registration allows those 17-year-old voters who are eligible to vote in the General Election to also participate in the political parties’ nominating processes for the General Election.
