HAMPTON COUNTY RECEIVES $797,386 FROM THE SC AERONAUTICS COMMISSION
The South Carolina Aeronautics Commission (SCAC) has approved Hampton County’s project application and awarded $797,386 for the Hampton County Airport.
“Funding from the SC Aeronautics Commission is a tremendous step in the development of the Hampton County Airport, said Hampton County Chairman, Clay Bishop. “This award will allow our County to improve infrastructure and safety at the airport.”
The application to SCAC is for the construction of TWY parallel to RWY 11/29, and the construction hangar sitework and taxi lanes for new hangar development.
Hampton County Councilman, Dr. Roy Hollingsworth said, “This infrastructural grant will certainly help our community when it comes to economic development recruitment. Companies that might be looking to locate in Hampton County will certainly find air service a convenient bonus to have here in the community.”
Hampton County Airport Commission Chairman, Jack Woodward said, “This is wonderful news. The grant from SCAC will allow us to move forward on meeting the demands for pilots in wanting to base their aircraft at the Hampton County Airport.
