Department Functions
The function of the Clerk of Courts Office is to provide administrative support, maintain court records and information of the judicial system for Common Pleas, Family Court, General Sessions Court and Register of Deeds.

This Office Does Not
- provide any legal advice. If any information is needed, please contact the appropriate department. We also do not provide any blank legal forms or documents. Copies can be made in this office at the cost of 50 cents per page. Certified copies of documents filed in this office are $1.00 per document plus any copy charge.
- provide research of any kind. We have a public terminal for land records filed after January 3, 2000. Records before this date can be looked up in our public indexes. Original documents filed in the ROD office are returned in approximately 7-10 working days.
- provide child support information over the phone. You may come to the office in person with picture I.D., or make a written request by fax or by mail. Support information can also be obtained 24 hours a day by calling 803-914-2260. Entering the case ID# will provide payment and balance information. Support payments are processed by direct deposit. They are available 24-48 hours after they are received.
