[ARCHIVED] School Consolidation Topic

Per the Hampton County Council Chairman, Clay Bishop, the School Consolidation Topic is NOT on the Hampton County Council Agenda for the next meeting on September 16, 2019 @ 6:00 PM.  We understand that there is a great deal of misinformation being distributed throughout concerning the School Consolidation Topic.  In an effort to assist in clearing some of this up, I would like to pass on that there is a meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 @ 5:00 PM at Estill High School.  This will be a meeting of both School Boards to discuss the topic of Consolidation.  While the Hampton County Council is concerned and greatly interested, this issue falls under the Elected School Boards of District 1&2.  The Hampton County Council as a body has not taken a position on this issue at this time.  The Council respects and appreciates the research and the work the County School Boards are going through with this issue that concerns the future of education for our youth.  Should the public have any questions concerning meetings and or information concerning this issue, please contact your respective School Board Member or your Superintendents.
