HAMPTON COUNTY RECEIVES TWO GRANTS FROM THE SC AERONAUTICS COMMISSION
The South Carolina Aeronautics Commission (SCAC) has approved Hampton County’s two newest project applications and awarded a total of $64,000 for the Hampton County Airport.
“We are pleased to accept the two awards from the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission. This funding will allow our County to move forward in the development of our airport,” said Hampton County Chairman, Clay Bishop.
The total of the projects submitted were $80,000. We received funding in the amount of $64,000. The first project for $50,000 is to update the airport’s master plan. The second project for $30,000 is for the airport’s fencing portion of the overall project.
Hampton County Councilman, Dr. Roy Hollingsworth said, “Hampton County is sincerely grateful for the partnership with the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission. This funding brings us closer to accomplishing our goal of promoting economic development and recruitment through air service.”
Hampton County Airport Commission Chairman, Jack Woodward said, “The latest funding from the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission will assist with meeting the demands of pilots visiting Hampton County and wanting to base their aircraft at the Hampton County Airport.”
