2024 PPP Notice

NOTICE OF ELECTIONS

 

STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA         COUNTY OF ___Hampton____________________

 

A Democratic Presidential Preference Primary will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024.   A Republican Presidential Preference Primary will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024. These primaries will be conducted in the polling places listed in this notice.

 

Voters may participate in only one party’s presidential preference primary. The deadline to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary is Thursday, January 4, 2024. The deadline to register to vote and be eligible to vote in the Republican Presidential Preference Primary is Thursday, January 25, 2024.

 

Early Voting for Democratic PPP

The early voting period for the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary opens Monday, January 22 and ends Friday, February 2. Early voting will be closed on Sunday, January 28. Early voting centers will be open from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the locations designated below.

Early Voting for Republican PPP

The early voting period for the Republican Presidential Preference Primary opens Monday, February 12 and ends Thursday, February 22. Early voting will be closed on February 18 and 19. Early voting centers will be open from 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the locations designated below.

Voters will be asked to show their current and valid Photo ID when voting in person. A valid Photo ID can include a S.C. driver’s license, an ID Card issued by S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles, a SC voter registration card with photo, a federal military ID, or a US Passport. 

 

At 9:00 a.m. on February 3, the county board will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes from the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary at the BT Deloach Building, 201 Jackson Ave., West, Hampton, SC 29924, Conference Room, A/B, Hampton, S.C. 29924. At 9:00 a.m. on February 24, the county board will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes from the Republican Presidential Preference Primary at the BT Deloach Building, 201 Jackson Ave., West, Hampton, SC 29924, Conference Room, A/B, Hampton, S.C. 29924. Telephone: (803) 914-2080.  

 

On Thursday, February 8, at 10:00 a.m. the County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in the Democratic Preference Primary. This hearing will be held at the BT Deloach Building, 201 Jackson Ave., West, Hampton, S.C. 29924, Conference Room, A/B, Hampton, S.C. 29924.

 

On Thursday, February 29, at 10:00 a.m. the County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in the Republican Preference Primary. This hearing will be held at the BT Deloach Building, 201 Jackson Ave., West, Hampton, S.C. 29924, Conference Room, A/B, Hampton, S.C. 29924.  

 

 

The polling place locations for some precincts may be combined with others for the primaries as allowed by law. The polls will be open on election day from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the polling places designated below.
