Central Dispatch (E911)

Department Functions
 Central Dispatch (E911) receives 911 emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatches emergency responders such as police, fire, and medical services to various locations requested by the citizens.

We are the primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Hampton County. Services are provided to:
  • Hampton County Sheriff's Office
  • Municipal Police agencies
  • Fire Departments
  • Emergency Medical Services

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate communications records using various computers
  • Provide pre arrival instruction on medical calls
  • Provide 24-hour support for various departments such as
    • Social Services
    • Juvenile Justice
    • American Red Cross
    • Natural Resources
    • Animal Control
    • Forestry Commission
    • County Public Works
    • State Maintenance
    • Highway Patrol
    • Litter Control
    • Municipal Water Works
    • Emergency Management
    • State Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
    • Coroner
    • Other agencies
